Europe Trip Planning
Winter break 2028/29 • about two weeks • nothing decided yet
Where we are
This is a planning site, not an itinerary. No dates, no route, and no bookings exist yet. It has two jobs: show what these cities are actually like in winter, and lay out the decisions we need to make. Browse the cities, then weigh in on the questions.
The big one: which arc?
The southern countries and the northern cities are two coherent trips, not one. Cramming all six countries into two weeks means about a third of the trip in transit. Pick a lane:
| Arc | Cities | The case for it | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mediterranean | Athens · Rome · Barcelona/Madrid | Mild and bright, slower pace, the original idea | Three flights between bases |
| Northern classics | London · Paris · Amsterdam | Tightest logistics of any option — all trains, city center to city center | Dark and wet; Amsterdam’s sun sets at 4:29 PM in late December |
| Split arc | Rome · Barcelona · Paris · London | Covers both moods | The most days in transit; drops Greece |
